Publicly accessible Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in South Australia should be registered on the South Australian AED Register, which is managed by SA Ambulance Service.
The South Australian AED Register is integrated with the GoodSAM platform, which allows Triple Zero (000) call-takers to identify nearby registered AEDs during a cardiac emergency and direct bystanders to them if required.
To register a new AED:
- Visit the SA Ambulance Service AED Registration page
- Select Register your AED
- You will be redirected to the GoodSAM platform to complete the registration process
- Create a GoodSAM AED account, or sign in to an existing account
- Enter the AED details, including:
- AED location and address
- Brand and model
- Serial number
- Battery and pad expiry dates
- Public accessibility hours
- A photo of the AED and its location
We recommend using a shared organisational email address (such as a reception or generic mailbox) when creating the GoodSAM account to assist with ongoing management of the AED registration.
Registering an AED on other AED locator apps alone does not make it visible to SA Ambulance Service Triple Zero (000) systems. The AED must be registered on the South Australian AED Register hosted through GoodSAM.
