SA Ambulance Service (SAAS) supports community engagement by attending schools, kindergartens, and community groups to help demystify ambulance services and emergency care. These visits are designed to educate the community—particularly young people—about when and how to call Triple Zero (000), and what to expect when an ambulance arrives
Who can request a visit
Community visits may be requested by:
- Schools and early learning centres
- Community groups and organisations
- Youth groups and education providers
These visits aim to improve understanding of emergency services and patient care.
How to submit a request
All requests must be submitted via the official online form:
SA Ambulance Service Community Event Request Form
This form is hosted externally and captures the details required to assess your request.
Important considerations
Before submitting a request, please ensure you are aware of the following:
Availability is not guaranteed
- SAAS operational staff support these visits alongside their emergency duties.
- As a result, SAAS may not be able to accommodate all requests.
Lead times
- Requests may take time to arrange due to operational priorities.
- Preferred dates cannot be guaranteed.
Purpose of visits
Community requests are intended for:
- Education about emergency response
- Awareness of ambulance services
- Demonstrations (where possible)
They are not intended for event medical coverage or first aid services.
If a visit cannot be arranged, SAAS provides educational materials, including:
- A children’s educational video explaining ambulance attendance
- Supporting resources for teachers
These resources can be used to deliver learning outcomes independently.
